reducing the differentiation between architects and building designers when it is currently much easier to call yourself a building designer will simply lower the standards that the public can reasonably expect

compliance with the NCC is already predominantly outside the jurisdiction of architects or building designers - the building certifier has primary role in assessing compliance with NCC. However, design standards are likely to drop as a result of the proposal which will ultimately increase the risk of noncompliance
